Environmental Graphics

Inspired by the surrounding Puget Sound environment and supporting the project ‘sea to sky’ and ‘we are all english language learners’ themes, the environmental graphics at Mary Lyon Elementary School provide students with moments of discovery and a sense of one’s place in the local context and larger world.  Three layers of reaction are intended, beginning with interest and pride in the general appearance, progressing to specific learning opportunities found in the information presented, and culminating in suggestions to go back to the classroom or home to research related topics of one’s own inspiration.
